What's Going On?

LSBAE is now accepting renewal applications for Firm Registrations but before you register, please be sure you are familiar with the new rules.

All firm registrations will expire on June 30th, 2017 UNLESS you complete a renewal application.

LSBAE Responds to AIA Position Statement on Intern Titling

The American Institute of Architects recently updated their Directory of Public Policies and Position Statements on Pre-licensure Titling. The recommendations established by the AIA in this position statement are a direct violation of the Louisiana statute and rules. Click here to learn about the LSBAE position on these titles.

New Firm Categories, Fees Announced

The Louisiana State Board of Architectural Examiners has adopted a new rule that will impact the structure of Firm Registration. This new rule will go into effect on July 1, 2017 and effects all firms renewing for the July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 time period.

Under the new rules, all architectural firms conducting business in Louisiana will now be required to register with the Board. The Board has created a new category for firms who do not fit the requirements for traditional firm registration as a limited liability company, an architectural-engineering corporation, or a professional architectural corporation. That new category is called “Architectural Firm”.

New fees will become effective for all new applications and renewals for the registration period July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018. This means that if you are renewing your firm registration for this time period, you will pay the new fee. New firm applications received after July 1 will be charged the new fees. This information was highlighted in a Special Newsletter earlier this month that was e-mailed and mailed via the USPS to all registered architects.
